Pie-Cakes & Banchews

Ball Room = Heaven
This week kicked off our first official full week off work.  Where do teachers go on their vacation...the Children's Museum of course! I decided to make it a vacation kick off day as well as a play date with my former co-worker Shelby & her adorable little girls (Krosby & Jensen).  One of whom is less than a months age difference from Preston.  I think the museum was a little much for our Little Man.  Three highlights for him were the Ball Room (as shown), car racing tracks and the gift shop.  I am in no way kidding about the last one.  Every chance he got, he was trying to race down the stairs to that gift shop.  I am so glad that Rob went with us because Preston was non stop going from here to there, manipulating his way down to the first floor gift shop.  A riot!

Little Man's hair grows like there is no tomorrow.  When my mom was here, we took him in March, the time before that in January and two more times before that.  Our last visit was right before Memorial Day.  Here is a before and after comparison.  Doesn't he look younger with the shaggy long do and older with the streamline short?  It's like he aged a year and this is all on the same day!

toy boy
The last two are a tad random from the past.  Preston loves his toys.  We one day Nana and piled them up on top of him and out came "toy boy".  I had the picture on my phone for months and every time he saw my phone he would say, "toy boy".  I loved it!
The other catch phrases around the house are "pie-cake" and "banchew".  Preston has seen many pies and cakes here at home and he managed to blend the two into a sweet concoction in his vocabulary.  Way too cute to correct, of course.  Any pie or cake that he sees on TV, at the store, in the house become "pie-cake".  A one word common knowledge expression that is now a favorite of mine.  We might just copyright it.  The second, "banchew", is all Preston.  He can't say banana and one day it came out different and never with a "Nana" at the end.  What will he think of next.

Finally, if anyone remembers Buddy.  A friends dog we took in temporarily for 2 weeks that turned into 5 months, realized that he needed a better home and finally found him one.   We still stay in contact with Buddy's new mom.  He is doing very well.  He visits Mexico often.  Travels a lot and will be a ring bearer at a wedding soon.  He very loved and we miss him but he has a super great home with someone that adores him.
