Happy Easter 2020

The Quarantine didn't stop the Easter Bunny from visiting the Naylor boys! We watched the Pope's Mass on Facebook, a new experience. The boys scattered carrots on the lawn last night, in addition, they dressed in their Easter clothes instead of pj's. This morning they jumped up like firemen ready for a call and flew out to the kitchen before 6 am. Rob and I, reluctantly, rolled out of bed to usher them
back into their bedrooms to "check" if the Easter Bunny came. After the Bunny made his appearance we let the kids grab a basket and go hunting! THIS JUST IN: Preston just lost a tooth! I guess the Easter candy helped that one jump ship. I had to include a Now & Then picture. Happy Easter!

Tis the Season

Christmas 2018 came quickly and we found ourselves among food, family and fun. Uncle Jon was able to tear himself away from the cold weather of Colorado and travel down to the desert and spend time with the Naylors.  We pulled out all the culinary stops and made a full home cooked Christmas dinner to fill the belly of our favorite uncle out west.  He was just like Santa opening his pack as the toys and gifts quickly appeared under the Christmas tree.

The big morning arrived and the kids woke us up with cheers of excitement finding all the gifts under the tree. Logan’s statement was “Christmas Eve came!”  Still grasping a full understanding of the Eve and Day concept. Preston’s favorite was a Nerf toy and Logan got a Bendy stuffed animal that he wanted. Santa sure read their letters and apparently they maintained their “nice” status. Phew.

We are watching the Fiesta Bowl parade on TV this morning. Keeping warm because it was
30 degrees last night, something that we don’t usually need to concern ourselves with that here but the desert keeps us on our toes.  I will leave you with another Logan-ism. Christmas Day ended and we asked  the boys if they had a good Christmas. Logan piped up and said it wasn’t Christmas yet because there isn’t any snow. Snow = Christmas. ☃️❄️πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŽ

Finally, we rounded off a busy Christmas week celebrating our special first boy’s Birthday. It was a small but elite group that came out to help ring in his 8th year a tad early. Having a birthday amidst a busy Christmas holiday season isn’t easy especially to celebrate a
birthday but we had lots of fun!
He got some great presents I think he really loved the drone the most. He was jumping up and down with huge smile on his face. Score!

We are ready for 2019!

Christmas 2018

 The blog must go on.

We had our family photo shoot recently just betwixed the Thanksgiving holiday and the family coming down with colds. Well planned.

I look  at some of the old pictures from my last post and realize how big they’re getting.  A part of me wishes I could freeze time but I really love seeing them grow, mature, and become individuals.
We had our friend Melissa take this years and last years photos for the obligatory Christmas card. She works well with the boys, she knows how to get them to smile and she has a great eye for the natural light.

I am so excited to have my brother flying in to be with us this Christmas holiday. It will be such a fun time seeing the boys play with their uncle.  We recently renovated our den room door. It is now an official barn door that allows the spare bedroom to have dual purpose: a den and a guest bedroom.   We really love the new barn door and it gives our house some character.

I am excited for all the holiday parties; work, WDEA and preparing a Christmas meal for my family. The weather can’t get any better, we have the tree up, lights and decorations about. The season is here. There is still a part of my heart that is heavy with the great loss we had in September.   Loss is part of living life to the fullest. The harder we love the more difficult it is to lose. My cousin Abby will never leave my heart. She will continue to be a part of me, in my heart.   There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of her.
Love and care for the ones around you. Stay safe and warm. πŸ’•Carolyn

Beach Boys

Another triumphant summer vacation! When you think that a vacation can't get any better than the next one the Cape does not disappoint. Even with a little overcast weather the boys could not resist the beach. Then when the clouds parted and the sun burst through it was the perfect definition of a beach day. After a week on the Cape with Grandma they get back to the desert and need to have...more water. After their weekly swim lesson we head over to the local pool for some fun in the sun with chlorine instead of salt (Cape). The 108° heat does not compare to 84° but we will take it.

I took another hundred pictures or so. Here are the many faces of the beach boys in all their sun kissed splendor. With all the new activities, fun excitement and longer stay I'm so proud of how well they travelled with me this year. When mommy gets a chance to relax (running after two boys) it's worth it's weight in gold. I'm looking forward to the last half of our summer vacation. Thanks Grandma for another summer of fun memories!
