6 Month Old Silliness

Mommy had to play around a little with this toy on Preston's head. Don't worry, Mommy gave him a "funny hat" show too to be fair. He is basking in his half year of life glory by using his arms to do more baby push-ups, laughing at his four legged brothers run-round the house and becoming a pro at eating rice cereal everyday.
He held his own at the doctors office today weighing in at 18 pounds 8 ounces. He was a little tough guy when it came time for his shots too. Some tears came, naturally but as soon as he saw a basket of stickers at the check out area his pain became almost obsolete.
We enjoyed some festivities over the holiday weekend. The Tupen's hosted a BBQ where we got to eat bratwurst and kebabs before Preston called it a day by demanding a nap. Rob had to sleep too; usually holiday weekends are a very busy time at the resort. Last night we got to catch a fireworks show courtesy of our neighbors across the street. Preston loved to watch the colorful display of lights while listening to all the pops, whizzes and snaps.
We finished off the evening with the Boston Pops on TV. I turned out the lights and turned up the volume to get the full effect.
Preston hit the hay hard, enough to sleep through a quick moving thunder and lightning storm that tore up most of the neighborhood landscape. Limbs were down, piles of palm leaves littered the roads and city crews were out trying to manage the mayhem. We ended up driving a different way home from the doctors office to avoid the clean up.
House update: We have ordered the appraisal and hopefully that will take place within the next couple of days. Our lender is pretty certain once the appraisal is completed and the paperwork processed we will be closing within the next 2 and a half weeks. That doesn't seem like a lot of time and it has finally set in that we will indeed be moving soon. Yikes! Of course the deal isn't final until we sign the papers and get the keys in hand, that's when the real work begins.
Happy day after Independence Day!
