Short Hiatus

The last several months have been filled with rough and good times. After the big First Birthday party it was my birthday (yikes), fall break, a Grandma visit and our 6th anniversary.  Sadly we hit some heartbreaking loss as well. A young boy of 6 years old got his angel wings too quick and unexpectedly. A long standing, dedicated, and loved mother of my best Arizona friend passed away. Saying good bye to Luke Smith and Kim Sweet so quickly was traumatic and sorrowful. A young life snuffed too early and a former neo natal nursing specialist who even helped Preston eat during the first 24 hours at home. Kim was a superhero who earned her stripes. Superhero shirt colors filled Luke's memorial to honor his time on earth. He will be fulfilling his superhero duties with his new wings up in heaven.
Life is precious, a true gift, love now, show how much you love every chance you get.
Logan and Preston up to a new adventure just after Grandma came to visit in early October. After two boys happily playing goes silent and the scent of medicine fills the air. We found Logan smiling away with Preston rubbing Vick's Vapor Rub in his hair.  The inprompt to hair salon play inspired a few pictures for posterity and some future laughs at Logan's expense.
Having Grandma in town was great! Logan loves getting pushed around in his red car. They got a super Christmas picture during the 4th annual (?) Naylor Photoshoot.  Preston constantly talks about Grandma and going to visit her. I know he loves seeing her (and playing with all our old toys) just as much as she loves to see him. Rob and I got a nice anniversary dinner courtesy of Mamabear too. Take out dinners and enjoying the kids during my week off was just what we needed.
The extracurricular activities vary at this time of year. One day we are taking out the birthday pool water set because we were still in the 90's in late September and early October. Another day I took them out to Touch A Truck Day and Preston loved climbing into his favorite trucks. This was an EMT truck. Preston was asking so many questions about this truck. Helicopters, moving trucks, SWAT surveillance vans and most any emergency vehicle caught his eye. We had to leave at 11 AM is was so hot only a few shady spots and we were trucked out.

Nor sooner than I realized it, we looked up and some littles were trying to fit into their homemade spooky ghost costumes.  No make up or hats to cover their heads. They both knew how to spook people with a "Boo" of cuteness. Halloween was really fun with the boys this year.  Preston knew the drill and loved saying trick or treat, would walk up to most houses on his own.  Logan got his first trick or treat time on his own two feet and got something good to grab on to (eat).
Logan & Preston still prefer to have bath time together.  A cute moment in the tub came out that evening but the before and after while Preston is wanting to take things away from Logan or he starts to pour water all over his head can be trying.  Time to breakout two of everything because they get jealous both ways.
The two Naylor members who have the least amount of responsiblity, Ruger and Frida. They get some good old fashion snuggling in on the couch these days. The evenings are colder and Frida needs that warm body.  The hiatus is over. I will try to get in some more frequent posts in from now on. The laptop had some tech difficulty and did not give me quick opportunity to post. A cell phone app later and I'm back on the horse. I am technological girl in this technological world.
